Coverage matrix

What the engines support, refuse, and preserve

One table per file format. Each feature family lists how many census cases the engine supports, preserves unchanged, or refuses with a typed error. Counts are generated from the evidence committed with the engines.

How to read the statuses

Supported: The operation succeeds through the public API, and the census records a workflow that saves the document and checks the result.
Preserved: The feature has no editing API here. Its bytes survive unrelated edits unchanged, so a round trip keeps it.
Refused: The request fails with a typed error. The source file stays byte-identical and no output is written, so a refused request leaves your file untouched.

A case is one combination of feature, operation, file profile, and API recorded in the census. Features the census has not yet qualified carry no status here, and nothing on this page claims them. Evidence ids name the census each row comes from.
